Local Carpenter

Andy is polite and friendly, and an excellent carpenter. He has done a fair bit of work for me now over recent years which hasn't always been easy for him as my cottage is now 188 years old, so can throw up quite a few problems. He made an excellent job of skirting however, plus made an old fireplace ceiling good and much stronger, and painted it also. His last 'challenge' was thinking of the best and easiest way of getting a large, four-drawer, solid pine chest of drawers up an old, very narrow staircase with an awkward return at the bottom. I should have guessed he'd think of a way round this problem, and of course he did by sawing it in half, carrying it all upstairs and then glueing the two halves back together again. He'll come back and varnish over the line on his next visit to make it invisible, he says. So I am extremely pleased with all the work he's done for me, and would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone at all. Well done, Andy! Judy 👌😊
